Middle School League (MSFL, no weight
restrictions)
The RFL is planning an eight or
10 team Middle School League in 2009.
The teams are aligned with Montgomery County High
Schools with the cooperation of Varsity and JV coaches,
to better prepare serious players for the next level.
Players that do not live in a cluster served by the
schools represented in the League will be placed on an
unaffiliated team in the League.
There are no weight restrictions, although we do suggest
a minimum of 130 pounds for those not in the 8th grade.
The league is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.
6th and 7th graders that can make Intermediate weight
and have not played at least one year of Intermediate
level can not play in the Middle School League until
the 8th grade.
9th graders, regardless of age are not allowed.
This is a competitive program with no minimum play rule
and teams may cut players that are eligible for weighted
divisions depending upon roster size. Players will
be assigned to the team that serves the Montgomery
County School cluster they live in and the school their
middle school feeds.
