Welcome to

Registration Central

IMPORTANT!

Registration is Now Closed Except for the Middle School Football League

If you would like to register for the Middle School League you must be

in the 8th grade or cannot make weight for the RFL Intermediate Division or

be a 7th grader with a minimum one year Intermediate level experience.  Use the Returning Player link at the bottom of this page to register.

Please read the following announcements before starting the registration process.

The  NAVY and ARMY (Pony, PW and INT) tiered system does not impact Registration.  You will still register for the appropriate Division and if you are a Returning Player the right team.

New for 2010!  All families, Football and Cheer are asked to volunteer to help make the RFL Experience the best it can be.  To that end there is a required question on all registration forms that asks you what general area you would like to volunteer for.  You will be assigned to a job once during the year (usually for 2-4 hours).  If you would rather not give of your time there is a $50.00 opt out fee that will be included in your check out basket at the end of the registration process.

  • Make sure you have read the Ages and Weights page and Registration Primer before starting the Registration Process.  Ages and Weights have changed so read carefully.  Beginning Fall 2010 the Ankle Biter Division is no longer open to those players turning 9 prior to August 1.

  • Cheerleaders can register for specific team lines (Panthers, Wolverines etc.) or for 2010 Cheerleader Sign-Up if you would like us to place you.  Age groups will be assigned by the Cheerleading Director.

  • New Players must use the New Player Form.  You will not be able to select a team only a Division.  You will be able to request a team or coach once you start the registration form.  Players will be placed after June 1 based on RFL rules and team roster spaces available.

  • Returning Players must use the button under Returning PlayersReturning Players are those that played in the RFL in the Fall of 2008 or Fall 2009.  First time RFL Spring Flag players in 2010 are not Returning Players for registration purposes and must wait until June 1 to register.  Priority for Returning Players ends on June 1.

  • If you are a Returning Player and the team you played for last year or the team you are supposed to move up to is full you must select the "2010 (Your Division) Football Sign-Up optionDO NOT SELECT ANOTHER TEAM.  There is still a good chance you will make the roster if you are registering before June 1.

  • If you are trying to register for a Blessed Sacrament team that is full you should register using  "2010 (Your Division) Football Sign-Up optionDO NOT SELECT ANOTHER TEAM unless you want to play for that team.  If you will not consider another team then In the Request Team or Coach box enter Blessed Sacrament.  This will put you on a waiting list.  You will have until July 15 to request a refund (less the $25 processing fee) if a roster spot does not open up.  After July 15 you can remain  on the waiting list or accept placement on another team but there will be no refunds.

  • Waivers for medical reasons must be initiated by a letter from a physician stating the medical condition that requires the request.  Size and/or age in of itself will not qualify for a Waiver.

Waivers to move to a different team will only be considered if there is a documented issue between a player and /or parent and a coach that will be coaching the player in the coming season or if a player was assigned to a team outside his territory in the previous season due to roster space.
To have a Waiver considered you must first register for the team you are supposed to play on and then follow the instructions for submitting Waiver Requests:  Waiver Form

  • Spring Flag teams and coaches have no bearing on Fall team assignments.  Please refer to the  Registration Primer for details.

  • Middle School Unlimited League Players :  You will be placed based on  Montgomery County High School Clusters or if you are currently attending private school you can opt for the new Private School MSL team if you will be continuing in private school following the 8th grade.  You must meet the following criteria to play in the Middle School League:

You must be entering the 8th grade in the fall of 2010.

                                     OR

Exceed the maximum weight restrictions of the Intermediate Division of the Rockville Football League.

                                     OR

Have a minimum of 1 year of Intermediate Division Football Experience.

  • If you are a New Player, you will be asked to select either Football or Cheerleading and then what Division (ie; Ankle Biter, Pony etc.)  You will not be able to choose a team name unless you are registering for  Blessed Sac.  New Players will be assigned after June 1 in the order they registered (date and time).  There is a field in the registration application to request a coach and/or a specific team.  We will do our best to fill requests based on team boundaries and roster space.

  • Make sure that when you enter the Registration System you create a new account if it is your first time using the process.  The first screen has a box on the left for "First Time Users" which it defaults to a box on the right for "Returning Users".  Do not confuse "Returning Player" with "Returning User".  Whether you have played before or not you are a "First Time User" until you create your account.  This is only done once.  If you played in 2007, 2008, Spring 2009, Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 you will be a "Returning User" and always use the initial account you created, in fact all of your information will be there and the process will take about 2 minutes.  If you want to register another family member that has not played before you will access the account you created for the first family member and almost all of your information will already be entered.

  • New families to the RFL often ask about location and dates of practice.  This is a team specific issue.  All “inside teams” practice within the Rockville/Potomac area.  Please see All You Need to Know About the RFL for more information.

  • The Registration Fee is inclusive.  The League Fee, City Cost Recovery Fee, Registration Process Fee and Credit Card or eCheck Fee is in one lump sum.  100% refunds less the Processing Fee and Credit Card or eCheck fee ($25.00) will only be issued until July 15.  There will be no refunds after July 15.  The system cannot determine whether 20854 residents live in the City of Rockville or Potomac and will not apply the $10 City Resident Discount at checkout.  While most 20854 Rockville residents have donated the $10 to the scholarship fund if you prefer the discount please email president@rfl.cc and we will process a refund for those that qualify.

  • Returning Flag players will register for the general team they played for last year. EX:  If you were a Bear Gold you will register for the Flag Bears.  Teams will be divided like last year if there are enough players.

  • If you played for the Jaguars  last year you must read the instructions below.  If not and you are a Returning Player or Cheerleader go to the bottom of the page and click on the Online Registration button.

  • Members of last years Jaguar Team that are moving up must register for the team that serves their geographic territory.  If you live outside the RFL Clusters you must wait until New Player Registration to register.  You may request a team at that point or be placed on a team that has roster space.

Registration Opens at 7:30 AM on May 15 for Returning Players and on June 1 at 7:30 AM for New Players.  Registration will close on or about August 18.
