that you read the revised RFL Rules and Coach's
Requirements and Responsibilities.

RFL Rules
The following procedure must be followed to be
certified to coach in the RFL:
1. RFL Thriva Registration
(all Coaches
every year)
Register to Coach in the RFL (Thriva) by clicking on
the Coach Registration link on the RFL website home
page. This must be done by all coaches every
season. Spring and Fall are separate seasons.
Do not register multiple times as this costs the RFL.
Multiple Registrations for the same season will
incur a $20 penalty.
2.
Background Check Release Form
and Fingerprinting
(all coaches)
All New Coaches and Returning Coaches must
submit the Background Check Release Form. This
must be done every year. The form is available
by clicking on the link below the Coach Registration
link on the Home Page or

. The form must be printed, signed and emailed
as a PDF File to
vicepresident@rfl.cc,
or mailed to:

or submitted at the Annual Spring Coaches Meeting
(May 1, 2013)
All Coaches that have never been fingerprinted
must contact City of Rockville for fingerprinting
appointment.
3.
USAFOOTBALL Youth Coaching Certification Course,
(Fall coaches)
All New Coaches and Returning Coaches must take and
pass the USA Football Youth Coaching Certification
or Re-Certification course and appropriate Age
Specific Course. Instructions and pyment coupon
codes will be emailed to registered coaches.
Your membership is pre-paid by the RFL, do not pay
for a membership yourself as it will not be
reimbursed and you will not be included in the RFL
Affiliate Chapter. Coach information is
uploaded to USA Football each week on Sunday of the
week you register in Thriva. Link for USA
Football Certification will be available at May 1,
2013 Coach's Meeting and posted here after that.
4.
Concussion Awareness and Equipment Fitting Class
(all coaches every year)
All coaches must take the CDC Concussion Awareness
class each year. The State of Maryland is
enacting legislation to require this of all Youth
and HS coaches. The course will be offered at the
May 1, 2013 Coach's Meeting or may be taken on line.

5. USA Football Head's UP Live Clinic. (tackle
coaches)
Mandatory for
all tackle Head and Assistant Coaches. Days
and Times will be emailed to all registered coaches.
Once the
required steps and conditions above and those in the
Revised RFL Rules have been completed you will be
placed on the RFL Field Pass Distribution List for
the 2012 Season. Deadline for completion is 12
Midnight August 29, 2013.
